Yes, we do buy both international stocks, as well as Australian companies.
At Shaw and Partners we do open international accounts and buy global companies such as Amazon, Tesla, Netflix, and Apple.
In reality, with global shares or international investing, I will more often use exchange-traded funds (ETFs) or listed investment companies (LICs) to achieve that same global exposure.
These are ASX-Listed and are complementary to the other Australian companies within a client’s portfolio. Australian dollar-denominated ETFs and LICs allow Australian investors to use Australian dollars to buy global portfolios of investments.
