The brokerage fee for the client on a trade is a sliding scale.
The minimum brokerage being $125 plus GST ($137.50 inclusive of GST). For example, if a client made a $10,000 purchase or sale, you may pay 1.5% plus GST which is $165 (inclusive of GST).
The brokerage rate that I charge may be a lower percentage for larger amounts or determined by the frequency or quantity of transactions, and is a discussion I am happy to have with you.
If a client is very active in the market, they then may incur a lower percentage brokerage rate.
Consideration is given when a client takes a significant position in the market, then that client may be charged a lower brokerage rate as a percentage of those funds that they are investing.
The recency of similar trades, the frequency of transactions, and/or the monetary size of a transaction, are all a basis for a financial adviser to determine the formula that determines the exact brokerage charged.
